For Free People’s latest campaign, I had to pivot from a song straight from the top of the Rock ‘n’ Roll canon to a budget-friendly tune from the same era without compromising on all the things that made the temp a hit. Enter “Symbols of Sin” by The Cavaliers (a.k.a Thee Kavaliers), a glorious nugget released on the Texan label, Pharoah Records in 1967. Big ups to director Yulia Gorbachenko and the brand team on their badass Pre-Fall films, and my pal Ryan Fitch at Mutiny Recordings for surfacing this one and coming through on a difficult swap!
